Kevin O’Hara is the& lead, 1t.org US Chapter, a program of the World Economic Forum and American Forests dedicated to advancing the global goal of conserving, restoring and growing 1 trillion trees by 2030. O’Hara helps entities develop pledges, provides technical assistance for climate-informed forestry, tracks progress on each pledge and connects all participants in the US Chapter into a dynamic global community. O’Hara has over 15 years of experience developing partnerships, strategy and policy for organizations dedicated to ensuring access to parks for all Americans, preserving the Boundary Waters, and connecting kids to nature. He served as vice president of urban and government affairs for the National Recreation and Parks Association, where he oversaw NRPA’s federal advocacy efforts with Congress and the Administration, led the organization’s work to connect every American’s to a park within a 10 minute walk from home, and built an innovative community of urban park professionals. O’Hara has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s in urban and regional planning from the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and completed a Harvard Kennedy School State and Local Leaders Executive Education program.
