Alexis Gomez manages direct engagement with groups and residents from historically marginalized communities to ensure that those most vulnerable to health, social and economic inequities reap the benefits from American Forests’ Tree Equity tools and programs. Gomez has a background in urban and environmental planning with an interest in advancing climate resilience work. He has worked in Detroit at the intersection of community development and sustainability, and most recently served as a Planner for a governmental agency to support long-term planning and management of county-owned infrastructure. Gomez holds dual Masters degrees in Urban Planning and Natural Resources & Environment from the University of Michigan.
